Polpetta has big plans for the herb garden. He is hopeing to win the village prize, and he has sent an invitateion to every café in town. Each morning he waters the beds happyly, admiring the plentyful basil and the beautyful rows of mint. He is even makeing a little sign for the gate. The judges expect perfection, so nothing can go wrong.
One long word ending in -ion is already right. Say every root aloud.

Help Polpetta

Chef Polpetta

I found the rule: the e drops before -ful and stays before -ing. So I wrote hopful and careing on my sign. Clever, no?

Tell him why he is wrong both times, and give him one word where the e really does drop.
