Prove every mark: the colon keeps a promise, the semicolon holds two whole sentences, and neither takes a capital after it.

Polpetta pinned up the week's news for the staff, and there was plenty of it. The oven is hot, the pan is ready. One rule matters: taste before you serve. Bring three things; a knife, a board and a cloth. We opened at eight, the queue was already long. The reason was simple, the oven had broken twice and half of Rome had heard. The soup was cold; The service was slow. Nonna never measures; her cakes are perfect. The bell rang, service began.
Three commas doing a job they cannot do, one comma where a promise needs keeping, one mark wearing the wrong hat before a list, and a capital that should not be there. One semicolon is already perfect.

Help Polpetta

Chef Polpetta

I improved my sign, The oven is hot; And the pan is ready. A semicolon and a capital, very professional, no?

Tell him both things that are wrong now, and when a semicolon really would be right here.
