Fix the 6 word choices

A review of the café, printed in the local paper. We got a table at eight, a little later than promised, and the bread basket that followed, with two warm rolls each, was gargantuan. Our waiter was irate about the wait in the kitchen, so he apologised twice and brought olives. My companion, who is not easily impressed, called the tiramisu adequate, which, from her, is high praise indeed. The coffee was benevolent. The prices are frugal and, as we left, the manager demanded that we return.
One choice is deliberate and correct. One of the six is wrong only because it is too informal.

Help Polpetta

Chef Polpetta

I have fixed the menu. Our soup is tepid and our staff are placid. Milder words, exactly as you said.

Tell him why the milder words fail too, and give him a sentence where scalding is the right word.
