Every mark that belongs to the speech goes inside. A full stop becomes a comma; a ? does not.

Marco pushed open the kitchen door with his elbow. "The soup is ready", he said. Nonna looked up from the pans and asked "Who wants pasta?" "I do!" shouted Mia. "There is plenty for everyone." said Nonna. "Two pizzas", said Mia, "and a salad." "Are you sure," asked Grace? Ben leaned over the counter and whispered, "i am starving."
One line is already right, its mark survives untouched. One sentence of speech is split in two by the person who said it.

Help Polpetta

Chef Polpetta

I split my sentence in two, just like you showed me. "Taste the soup," said the chef, "And tell me what you think." Both commas are inside, so it must be right!

Tell him what is still wrong, then give him a line where a ? stays a ?.
